About her work
"Similarly to the naturalist Humboldt in South America or Darwin in the Galapagos Archipelago, Muderer ventures across frontiers, an experience which fascinates many of her contemporaries. During her research and travels, the painter collects samples from unfamiliar environments, brings them back for examination and preserves these displaced pieces in functional square formats, where they can studied further at a later date. And, as earlier naturalists did on their world travels , Muderer's expeditions also serve to widen our spectrum of experience, in that she uncovers the real variety in the world, a beautiful, new world, waiting to be discovered by her and by us."
